About the owners
"We were lucky enough to find our ideal house in this beautiful little fishing port on the Gironde estuary in 2000. We are the only English people in the village and our French neighbours could not have been more welcoming. We spent the last 25 years of our working life as hoteliers, restauranteurs in Oxfordshire and Norfolk specialising in the best of localy sourced fish, game, poultry and meat. We are now fortunate enough to be able to do much of the same, again albeit on a much smaller scale, in this lovely setting. We aim to ensure our guests enjoy a completely relaxed, informal stay at affordable prices. With a do as you please atmosphere."

Why Frank and Jenny chose a property in Charente maritime.
"We spent many years travelling around the different regions of France on holiday. After 2 weeks in Charente Maritime we fell in love with this beautiful region, with its wildlife, totally relaxed lifestyle, climate (2nd sunniest region of France) and it's mild short winters, not to mention its vineyards and their products (cognac, pineau and the wonderful wines of Bordeaux). There are facilities for every sport and pastime within easy reach. While we are delighted with the peace and calm of our village for the more adventuresome the bright lights of Bordeaux, Cognac, La Rochelle, Saintes and Royan are all easily accessible. The area is famous for the fabulous sandy beaches, coves and safe swimming. The culture of the region is historically connected with England for over 1000 years."

Some of the unique benefits of the property:- The house is on the harbour side so you can relax and watch the boats, the children learning to sail with our professional instructors, a glass of wine and Jenny's cooking. For guests who do not wish to drive we will transport you to and from the airports or railway stations.

Come and enjoy France's best kept secret destination.
